Weekly Star Wars Recap #60: October 10th 2016

Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Spoiled Blue Milk Weekly Star Wars Recap. You might say that this has been one of the slowest weeks in a long time. It’s kind of hard to believe in fact. You’d think at this point, just 66 days until Rogue One, we’d have more leaks and news. The trailers are certainly getting very close. Nevertheless, we’ve managed to find a few stories out there that we think you’ll enjoy. Possible spoilers below.

New Finn in Episode VIII details.

Making Star Wars released some new rumors on Finn in Episode VIII. Among the pieces of information is the fact that Finn is wearing a “bacta suit”, which will look like a bubble suit that will help him recover from his injuries seen at the end of The Force Awakens. MSW goes on to say that Finn emerges from the suit in “better condition than ever before”. The way this last point is described makes it sound like Finn may have even gained strength from the whole ordeal. This raises the question, why? Could it be that the bacta suit has rebuilt his spinal cord even stronger, affecting his whole body? Or could it be the Force is with Finn? I’m hoping that his force abilities are coming out. I want him to be one of the new Jedi.

Minor Details from Felicity Jones on Rogue One

Felicity Jones, in an interview with the Telegraph, shares a few minor but interesting points about Rogue One. The article reads:

After Inferno wrapped last July she flew straight to Jordan to start filming Rogue One in the desert of Wadi Rum. She plays Jyn Erso, a rebel spy on a mission to destabilise Darth Vader’s evil empire.

She is not supposed to discuss it, but she relents a little and admits, ‘One of the first shots featured a stormtrooper sitting on a camel, and I thought to myself: “Wow, I’m in Star Wars!”’

This makes you wonder, what sort of camel will this thing be? A lot of the scenes with the Eopie in TPM involved filming with blue-covered structures that were overlayed with CGI animals.

It would be interesting if they are now trying filming with actual animals that could be altered with CGI in post-production. Such a move could make for enhanced realism in the film, depending on how it’s done. It might make the most sense to bring back the eopie if done well.

New reports on the Han Solo anthology film

Shadow and Act: from 'Fantastic Beasts'
Shadow and Act: from ‘Fantastic Beasts’

There are new reports from variety.com that discuss the latest rumblings on the Han Solo films female lead. The names being discussed include Zoë Kravitz, the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, as well as Tessa Thomson, who stared in Thor: Ragnarok and Veronica Mars. There are a ot of people speculating that this will be Sana Solo but I’m not sure that is the direction they will go.

As an aside we will be shifting our post to Monday and Friday with breaking news posts as needed. We want to make sure our content is always up to the standard you expect from Spoiled Blue Milk.
