With Han Solo filming, and The Last Jedi releasing more and more material, the news keeps coming in. Let’s take a moment to review the latest Star Wars movie news.
Tons of new Han Solo News and Leaks!
Filming has begun for Han Solo! As a result, there have been a ton of leaks about filming in Fuerteventura. First, TMZ leaked some set photos of the new Han Solo movie. Star Wars News Net has just released some details and photos on Han Solo. Among the photos, there are a lot of Fawley Power Station. This station looking like 70s technology, or earlier, and sort of looks like Star Wars because back then it probably looked futuristic. They also built what look like Imperial Stations of some kind next to the cement walls. Making Star Wars has just released a video of Han Solo in his speeder driving through smoke.
The common theme in all of these leaks is that Han Solo will be driving a speeder. What’s great about this is this harkens back to some great stories of George Lucas’ youth such as drag racing. These drag racing ideas made their way into the prequels in the form of pod racing, and now it looks like Han Solo will be a racer of some sort. This is a great lead-in to becoming a pilot.
Mace Windu comic announced
StarWars.com has just announced that they will release a Mace Windu comic set around the beginning of the Clone Wars. From the announcement:
For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the peacekeepers of the galaxy…but now, at the dawn of the Clone Wars, they find themselves in a new role: generals in the Army of the Republic. As Mace Windu, one of the Jedi’s greatest warriors, leads a small unit of Jedi into battle shortly after the war begins, the Jedi must make peace with their new role, or be lost to the violence around them!
Kylo Ren in a TIE figher!
There was a leak from Redditor ahcahttan showing that there will be a Funko POP! for Kylo Ren in his TIE fighter. This news follows the MSW article from a couple weeks ago with an image of the new TIE fighter design (above). The cool thing is this really reinforces the idea that Kylo will be flying the ship in The Last Jedi. I for one am very excited to see Kylo’s piloting skills in this one. Hopefully he will live up to his grandfather and really kick some butt. I’m hoping for amazing flying and him blasting quite a few resistance fighters out of space. This is Star Wars at it’s finest.
Luke Skywalker’s Gear!
MakingStarWars has this article on Luke. Ok that compass sounds so freaking cool. I really like the idea that its important whether to the plot to Luke in general. OK, so here’s some completely off the wall speculation… it allows one to navigate the Unknown regions. The backpack sounds like left over X-wing stuff Luke happens to have and the stick, makes me think that we won’t see Luke ignite the Green in The Last Jedi. The orange backpack has marketing gold written all over it!
The Shocking Truth!
StarWarsNewsNet has this article on a Japanese poster hinting at a shock or twist in The Last Jedi. I’m guessing that this is just marketing jazz and nothing special. It seems very unlikely that a scoop like this would only go to the Japanese poster, so it seems like it isn’t anything that we haven’t heard. We suspect that Luke really does want to end the Jedi order, and this is the shocking truth.
