Weekly Star Wars Recap #124: January 17th, 2018

Welcome back, Star Wars fans! We’re here for another edition of the weekly recap. We took the day off Monday for MLK day, yesterday was a busy day, and now we’re back to bring you the news. Let’s get to it.

The Last Jedi blu-ray pre-orders available!

This one just hit today. You can already pre-order the blu-ray for The Last Jedi! I can only assume that Amazon will follow this shortly. There are rumors of over 2 hours of bonus content with the video, so stay tuned for more details on that. I would expect this makes sense. With all the photos Rian took, and “making of” shots we’ve seen already, I would expect that they have tons of content for the fans.

New Han Solo Details

While it looks like we’ll have to wait longer for the Solo trailer, here are some impressions of a Solo sneak peak. Looks pretty good! While we’re at it, check out the plot synopsis released from the official site. There were some new set photos to just surface to add to what has been previously put out there.

New Rian Johnson Interview

This episode from Empire Movie Podcast has a ton of questions and answers from writer/director Rian Johnson on The Last Jedi. What’s cool about this one is Rian explains his motivation for a lot of the choices that people complained about. His answers may surprise you, but also they make a heck of a lot of sense.

Liam Neeson open to Playing Qui-gon again!

This one is just a little note at the end. There is no evidence that Neeson would be in Episode IX at the moment, but what an opportunity. He’s open to playing the Jedi Master again! I personally would love a Force-ghost scene of some kind with Luke, and bringing back some of old greats would be a great way to do that. JJ views Episode IX as the end to the Skywalker saga, so connecting full-circle to the prequels is a great way to do that.
