Weekly Star Wars Recap #120: Dec 18th 2017

Hello, Star Wars fans! We’re back after the opening weekend of The Last Jedi to bring you the latest in Star Wars news. It’s been one heck of a weekend, but now our thoughts have turned to Episode IX and beyond. Let’s get to the news.

Vanity Fair discusses The Last Jedi backlash

While we loved the film here at Spoiled Blue Milk, there are many fans out there that had issues with the film. I’ve listened to a lot of these reviews, and to me they all seem like minor criticisms, and to me it is clear that RJ just had a different vision for the film. By no means reason to reject the film. I don’t see the issue with a lot of these things, and frankly don’t get it. I was at the edge of my seat, and was excited to get something “fresh”.

Vanity Fair goes over some of the complaints, and gives some good insight.

Episode IX working title revealed!

The blog Fantha Tracks has revealed the working title of Episode IX to be “Black Diamond”. Keep in mind, this doesn’t reveal much, and we shouldn’t read too much into it.

JJ Abrams Pitches his Episode IX idea

Making Star Wars reported today that at the press conference regarding Disney’s acquisition of Fox, President Bob Iger stated that JJ has shared this pitch for the 2019 film. Things are just beginning for sure, but it is good to hear that the ball is rolling.
