Weekly Star Wars Recap #134: March 19th, 2018

Greetings out there in Star Wars fandom! We’re back to bring you the latest Star Wars news! This past week has been pretty ho-hum for Star Wars news, but we have a few choice morsels of newsy goodness. Let’s get to it.

Episode IX Details trickling in

While nothing is confirmed one way or another, Mark Hamill at least recently commented on his possible role in Episode IX. Let’s just say he hasn’t closed the door in him being in it, and that only “JJ knows for sure.”

Let’s be clear though. Mark Hamill will be in Episode IX 100%. That’s our speculation, but come on. He will almost certainly come back as a Force-ghost, the question is how much screentime and what role will his character have in the film.

Early Production has begun on new Star Wars trilogy!

While details are fairly scarse, a recent interview with Ram Bergman suggests that preliminary work has begun on the new trilogy from Rian Johnson and company. We expect this to be in the form of concept art and other early story treatments. Nothing too major, but that doesn’t mean we won’t hear some sort of rumors soon. I suspect we may get some details on what time in the Star Wars galaxy this trilogy takes place in.

New Short on the Music-only version of The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi just won some awards at the Empire Awards 2018. That brings us to our last little piece of news…it’s quick, but if you’re curious about the “music only” version of TLJ, check out this new short describing it. GL always said that Star Wars was like a silent movie, and this version of TLJ is true to that concept.
