Hi everyone. Well, it’s been one of those weeks. We’ve spent our time fighting off hackers trying to bring down our site, and at the same time wondering if there is any actual news to share. Hopefully those hackers and now kept at bay with the site locked down and we’ll have some decent news soon. Let’s see what we have here.
Billy Dee Williams has filming coming up
A couple of weeks ago, we reported on a bit of a rumor from FanthaTracks about Billy Dee reprising his role of Lando in Episode IX. Adding to that rumor now is the fact that Williams has cancelled his appearance at the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo. The expo takes place Sept 14th and 15th, which puts it not too far after the rumored beginning of Episode IX filming this month. Let’s put it this way, regardless of the evidence, it makes good sense a priori for Lando to make an appearance in this one. Things are certainly stacking up to suggest some sort of Lando involvement in the upcoming sequel, the big question is how much of an appearance? Filming for these things takes a long time, so not sure how much to read into the dates, but if filming starts in July, and this takes over 2 months, signs point to a decent-sized role.
New Details on Galaxy’s Edge
One of these days we’ll do an entire article on Galaxy’s Edge. This new detail comes from WDW News Today, and suggest that some maps demonstrate that there is a direct road from the Galaxy’s Edge hotel to a parking lot at Hollywood Studios. It also looks like there will be a path to a special entrance to the park. We know this is a primo WDW experience, and it looks like guests will bypass the lines and head straight for the Millennium Falcon. On top of all the other features you’ll get, shorter lines at the park could seal the deal.
Another key detail is also released from WDW News Today suggests that the imagineers over at Disney have come up with a new tech that enables holograms and Force-ghosts. This sounds great, and I would guess that this investment is worth it, with the possibility of this effect being incorporated into other rides like Pirates of the Caribbean.
Kathy Kennedy Rumors
Not sure if we should even touch these rumors, but they are almost certainly bogus. Kathy Kennedy has one of the most decorated CVs in Hollywood today. For whatever reason, people are trying to create rumors that KK is on the way out, and it just doesn’t seem likely. 3 of 4 films released under Kennedy have been big hits, so the notion that someone in her role would get the boot is just not very likely. A Ron Howard has said, that the movie is a personal best for him, with exit polls demonstrating a positive response to the film. Howard has also rejected the notion that the Star Wars Story films are on hold. Meanwhile, slashfilm has recently rejected the rumor that Kevin Feige from Marvel is going to replace her. No I think Kevin is staying where he is. All things considered, there were some errors that happened along the way that contributed to lower box office for Solo, however I don’t think they can be attributed to one person.
