Happy new year, Star Wars fans! We’re back for another edition of the weekly recap. The static of anticipation is in the air as we wait for a teaser. Will we see one soon? Read on for more.
Episode IX art and maybe more tomorrow?
This is one to keep an eye out for tomorrow. Artist Eric Tan has been posting movie posters each day, and has stated there will be nine in total. So tomorrow should be Episode IX! Does this mean that the title will be revealed tomorrow at the same time? Adding to the mystery, he has commented that he hasn’t designed the art for Episode IX yet, so I’m not exactly sure what to expect tomorrow! I will certainly look forward to it. The Star Wars show will also release a new episode, and these could all coincide with a title-release media push. Todays featured image is from this series!

Making Star Wars has recently heard about rumors of a teaser, and these rumors were also confirmed by Jordan Maison. However, neither of them have info on when it would be released.
Ok, I was following up on MSW’s recent post. Yeah, a teaser’s been cut. Heard a strong emphasis on “teaser” so it’s short. Could be little something for title announcement or an actual teaser. Not sure and timing is up in the air. It does exist though. #StarWars

Episode IX filming coming to an end?
In a recent post, JJ Abrams may have suggested that filming has come to an end. I’m not 100% sure, but this may have been a private post of some type, because I can’t find it. Maybe someone can comment on that? Star Wars News Net has confirmed this with some other social media posts. Even if filming is done, there will be a long period of post-production, and very likely some reshoots as there often are. You can expect a media outrage at the idea of reshoots, and other rumors as usual, even though there have been reshoots in just about every Star Wars film. Note: it’s not the image above, which was at the start of filming.
Ash on Black Park filming location?
Making Star Wars has leaked some photos of Black Park filming location. Not sure what this means, but it could be some sort of ash from an explosion or burning, similar to the way the surface of Starkiller base was burning. Is the forest a stand-in for another Starkiller base? This seems less likely, but a confrontation in the forest while it’s burning is pretty compelling. For example, a lightsaber battle could be pretty epic. There isn’t that much ash, but this could just be a few shots that will be supplemented by other shots in studio.
The Mandalorian Details
Making Star Wars has released some new details and images about The Mandalorian. These include a downed TIE fighter, and a new droid that has robot arms, which we reported on last week. There are a number of set photos and details so check it out!
Adding to this, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ later this year! They have also confirmed that the new season of The Clone Wars will also come out this year. All this is shaping up to be an exciting year!
