Weekly Star Wars Recap #165: Nov 19th, 2017

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you Stars Wars fans living in the US. Looks like the west coast is going to get some much needed rain this week, and will hopefully put an end to those wildfires. There are 395 days until Episode IX. Things are starting to look up. Let’s get to it.

News about the Cassian Andor Series

We’re thrilled to hear the news of exploring Diego Luna’s character in an upcoming series for the Disney Plus streaming service. This is a great opportunity to explore the early days of the rebellion, and possibly even connect to some old stories that were originally planned for the Underworld TV show.

Diego Luna recently discussed in an interview about the possibility of using some CG age-reduction tech in this one, which could hint at exploring even earlier in the timeline. After all, he has been part of the Rebellion since his was 6 years old. I wonder if we will see K2SO? I hope so!

Mandalorian News

The Mandalorian just might be healmed by Pedro Pascal. This one goes back to Making Star Wars back in early October, and now has recently been confirmed by Variety. Now more recently, Making Star Wars has leaked some footage of Taika Waititi filming what should be the season finale. They’ve also just recently posted photos of two characters from the show. They are speculating that one of them could be Carl Weathers, who they have also reported is rumored to be in the series. I don’t see the resemblance to Weathers personally, as this actor pictured looks much younger. Hard to say though. It could be a stuntman?

Rise of the Resistance

This is part of the parks coming in 2019. The key is that this is considered canon and it takes place after The Last Jedi and before Episode IX. We get a glimpse of the resistance Fleet full on mon calamari ships, which means the Resistance is ready and able to fight back and its grown.
