Greetings, Star Wars fans! We’re back for another one of these. Still chugging 166 recaps in. Today, we’re pretty excited about what looks to be an awesome addition to Star Wars animation. Let’s get to it.
Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Announced
This new series of shorts will be released on Star Wars Kids youtube channel. The show will feature scenes from Episodes I-VI, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Rogue One. I would expect at some point we will see scenes from the sequel trilogy too. I love the style and think this looks to bring out the best of Star Wars, and have a kind of Anime feel, yet brings something new. The audio tracks sound like they are direct copies of the original scenes, which is kind of cool. I think these shorts could be a great way to introduce a new generation the the films.

The post includes the Russo brothers, the directors of Avengers: Infinity War, Peyton Reed, who is the director of of Antman and sequel, and Taika Waititi, who will direct The Mandalorian‘s season one finale. Quite a lot of talent in this photo! It makes you wonder what kind of feedback these others will bring to the show, and if they are being teased to direct an episode in the future. Why not, right?
Anthony Daniels confirms filming in Pinewood
It comes as no surprise that Episode IX will film at Pinewood. This tweet seems to confirm that it is happening now or very soon. Exciting! Not much meat on this news, but still cool.
